Yesterday I noted the database challenges an OpenSim world was having and wondered if they can scale better than Second Life after all. That's led to a vibrant conversation in Comments, perhaps most notably with Adam Frisby, one of OpenSimulator's founders, weighing in. "If I drop the word 'can' from your question," he writes, "to simply 'Does OpenSim scale better than SL?', the short answer is -- yes in some ways, and only if you set it up in a certain manner." If you have the coder chops to follow the discussion, you absolutely should. Read it all and jump in yourself here.
