Chestnut Rau’s weekly round-up of upcoming SL events…
Today, Thursday 2/12 at 6PM Avatar Repertory Theater will present Shakespeare's "The Tempest", a comic romance containing equal parts sorcery, romance, and intrigue. The Avatar Repertory Theater was founded by Ada Radius and Sodovon Torok (pictured above) and consists of a small group of players with a broad range of technical and artistic skills. "The Tempest" is the group's first production of Shakespeare's work. Designer JubJub Forder calls the visual style of the production "pre-apocalyptic post-Victorian furry steampunk" The performances take place on a dedicated sim and will feature special effects and a most unique stage setting and props.
Everyone is welcome -- there is space for particularly large avatars in the water on either side of the audience. Seating is limited. Tickets are L$500 and each member of the audience will receive a goody bag of steampunk gifts worth L$1000. The show is 90 minutes long. Additional performances on 2/14, 15, 17, 18, 20. 2PM - Poetry A Celebration of Life

9AM - 11AM - Robin Harper Linden Goodbye Reception
Well loved Robin Linden has announced she is leaving Linden Labs, much to the dismay of many. The folks at Dublin could not let her move on without a big party to toast her seven years of hard work and contribution to our world. 1PM - SL Bryant Park Fashion Week kicks off
Twice a year RL fashion designers show off their latest collections in New York's Bryant Park. This week SL's Runway Magazine sponsors its own in-world Bryant Park Fashion Week. Day upon day of shows will feature a broad range of fashion designers including couture, formal, causal, swimwear and more. Shows will begin on February 13 and run through February 20. A total of 35 designers will be represented in 4 - 5 shows daily; the full schedule can be found here. Many designers will have on-site boutiques, offering designs seen in their shows and will be offering gifts to attendees. This is a must see event for indulging your inner fashionista. 9PM - Kaklick Martin at Luxor Stage
Kaklick Martin is a fabulous performer who has been singing and playing in SL for a very long time. He has written some of the best SL oriented songs including Furry Lolita of Gor, Ruth, and Circe Crashed Again. Noon - Ub Yifu and Adam Soler Art Exhibit Opening
This is the first in a series of art exhibits at ROLE Magazine's headquarters on the Concetta sim. Adam Soler’s digital artworks blend photography with digitally
hand-drawn elements. His colorful paintings embody touches of a
fantasy world. Ub Yifu has created some of
the most famous sculptures on the grid. Some of his
well-known sculptures are the “Space Elephant” inspired by a painting
by Salvador Dali and the “Don Quichotte” statue based on a painting by
