The Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education group is putting on a Second Life conference next month, and they're requesting presentation proposal which "focus on teaching/learning, scholarly work, projects, events, activities and new and innovative tools for virtual education." Application deadline is February 28 -- go here for more details. To get involved, there's also a Facebook group ("Virtual Worlds - Best Practices in Education 2009") and a Twitter group (VWBPE).

Sounds like an Immersive Education event based on what I can see at http://ImmersiveEducation.org although they cover more than just Second Life. I haven't got an announcement about this from the Immersive Education group, tho, so it might not be official yet?
