Inveterate SL inventor Luc Aubret just told me about his new project, and it's a very cool and potentially useful one: Te.leport.me, pretty much a Delicious-style social bookmarking system for Second Life locations. To create a bookmark, you wear the in-world heads-up display (in pic at top right) hit the push-pin icon, designate the location's category type (Live Music, Friends, etc.), and the SLurl and description is sent to your Te.leport.me account on the web. On the site, Luc tells me, "You can also search locations by tag, region, description, and title, as well as add people with similar interests to a watchlist so you can see what they post." The site already has an RSS feed, and in the near future he plans to add a filter to sort locations by popularity. There's been several previous attempts to create a Delicious-style bookmarking system for Second Life, but none of them have been broadly adopted. If only because the need for one is so great, I'd love to see Te.leport.me take off. You don't need to have a HUD to browse the website for worthwhile places to visit, but copies are available in-world at his store. [Direct SLurl teleport at this link]

Since I need to check SLurls for events when I am not in SL I got the HUD. So far it is very easy to use and looks to be a handy tool I will use often.

This tool sounds very much like sloog.org which has been round since 2007. I'll definitely try te.leport.me and see if it's better suited for tagging and sharing content. Cheers
