Here's a great example of artistic mediums transforming in the Internet age: Renowned artist David Hockney now paints flowers and landscapes on his iPhone, and sends copies of them to his friends. One of his friends, as it happens, is Kirsten Kiser, editor-in-chief of Arcspace, one of the web's top architecture sites. Kirsten is also a leading proponent of Second Life as a platform for architects and artists, and is known in-world as KK Jewell. Which is how KK imported Hockney's iPhone works into Second Life -- digital paintings by a great artist, now available for viewing in the metaverse. They're gorgeous and vibrant, and somewhat paradoxically, best seen while you're an avatar. See them first-hand yourself in KK's Arcspace office in SL: Direct SLurl teleport at this link.

If I didn't know any better, those strokes look like they were composed on the iPhone version of "Colors".
/Has the same tool on her Nintendo DS
//Doesn't have the same results, though!!

Oh, BTW, for those of you interested in attempting to produce simple paint art minatures with Colors! , try:

For most people, the iPhone/iPodTouch version paired off with a better stylus will be the option to plump for - the Nintendo DS version was never licensed by Nintendo, so an extensive amount of arcane technical work is required just to get the program running on the DS Lite / DSi .

Also, There is a 3D rendering of Hockney's "A Bigger Splash" in-world. Amazing: http://tinyurl.com/onuqn6

Its great to see David Hockney using modern technology to find more uses for his terrific paintings! Artists should always take influences from others to develop their work in different ways, be it different artists, or different styles.
