New World Notes events writer Chestnut Rau is on Summer vacation until July 30th, and I'll be doing my best to cover for her until then. So I ask you, dear readers, to help me out. What big Second Life events are happening between this Thursday and next Wednesday? Live music and performing arts, parties, fashion shows, fundraiser/benefits, game tournaments, more -- please post all the pertinent details in Comments, with SLurls, and I'll highlight as many as I can in the coming days.

A Soldier's Peace, an SL premiere *RESCHEDULED*
LET'S TRY IT ONE MORE TIME!
Netroots Nation in Second Life and Virtually Speaking are very proud to host the SL premiere of Marshall and Kristen Thompson's documentary A Soldier's Peace, the remarkable chronicle of one veteran's 500-mile journey into activism, which follows former Army journalist Marshall Thompson, an Iraq war veteran, as he walks the entire length of his home state of Utah, talking to people along the way about war and peace.
Please join us at Netroots Nation Arena for this simple yet powerful film, followed by an interview with Marshall Thompson.
For more information about the film, visit its official website at http://www.soldierspeace.com, and to find out more about the hosts, visit http://www.nninsl.org and http://virtuallyspeaking.ning.com.

My friend Annan Dreamscape sings live every Wednesday, 6-8pm SLT, at Sinatra Falls (streamed also to Frank's Place and the other Frank's sims). It's an all-request show, romantic/mellow in theme, and she has one of the warmest, sweetest and most expressive voices I've ever heard. She's got a little of everything on her song list, from 50's jazz to contemporary pop. She's just a vocalist, but she's a virtuoso vocalist.
