After a couple weeks vacation, Ms. Chestnut Rau is thankfully back writing "Chestnut's Choices", her weekly calendar of upcoming SL events. (A guide that one SL blogger calls "worth [NWN]'s cover price on its own", a sentiment I strongly share.) Here's the latest, with a few listings for today and tomorrow.
So, know of fun happenings hitting in the next couple weeks? Please post day, time, description, and SLurl here. As I never tire of saying, to best insure inclusion, we generally need event announcements a week in advance. However, we're always interested in last-minute events if they beguile us enough.
I realise NWN doesn't cover commercial events as a rule of thumb unless they have immense news value, but I thought maybe Chestnut might be interested in the Creator Stamp Rally for this August:

As examples of cooperation by lots of merchants over a prolonged period despite no direct guarantee of business, it is pretty good.

On August 14, both at the Second Life Community Convention in RL and at Research Center's Oddfellow Studios in SL, we'll be throwing down the biggest mixed reality Odd Ball ever!
Tuna Oddfellow will be creating a sensation in both worlds with his psychedelic light and effects show to the spinning tunes of three excellent SL DJs.
The event is free in SL and to folks registered at SLCC, but if you want to bring RL guests, tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
The RL event will be at the ball room at the Westin St. Francis on Union Square in SF. The slurl for the show in-world will be http://bit.ly/OddBall.
