Paypabak Writer recently friended someone in Second Life, after a random encounter that started when her tail (yes, her tail) accidentally sent out a flirtatious chat message, and was solidified by a shared love of the Beatles, and freebies. "Who really knows if we should meet again, but for forty minutes because of the Beatles," she writes for SL Fix, "we connected in ways that in RL may never have happened." Not to mention the talking tail, which probably helped break the ice too. What's the strangest way you've started an SL friendship? Image from Ms. Writer's Flickr stream.

What's the Strangest Way You've Started a Second Life Friendship?
About 3 days ago I got complemented on my style "Steam is a very classy fur" only to decide it was a good opportunity when tired to make a joke about it directed at me.
While not reading the rest of the open chat fully, just skim reading which some how caused me to insert part of it in a joke and insult another person who was also complementing me.
After apologising we became friends.
Second Life Friendship by complementary reversed & backfired joke insult.
Is that strange enough?

After a conference on Virtual Journalism came to a close, I was approached by Pooky Amsterdam, whom invited me to appear on her game show. We kept in touch before, and after the event.
Guess "that's show business."
