wouldn't it have been more mixed reality and uber kewl metaversey to have a simultaneous event in SL at the same time? In 2007 that was done. Guess a L$4000 a month shoutcast stream costs too much.

Chestnut Rau

Ann, the Musician's Ball was streamed into SL in several locations, including Molaskey's Pub. I posted the SLurl on Thursday right here on NWN.

Sioban McMahon

If I understood correctly, the venues that streamed the concert helped to pay for the travel costs of the performers, as well.

Ann Otoole

Thank you Chestnut. You proved my point on the music topic. There is no good way to publish events for SL. Dropping them in a wall of text on a blog is not real effective. I never saw it even though I looked.

Chestnut Rau

Ann
If your point now is there is no good way to publish events for SL then I agree -- to a point. The LL search function in-world and on the website need much work. I have blogged about that quite specifically on my personal blog.

If you are looking for a summary of upcoming events then please do check out Chestnut's Choices on Thursday afternoons here on NWN. If you have an event you want listed then by all means send me a note. I am open to posting any event that meets our guidelines.

Keiko

We're seriously too cute for the virtual world.

BTW do you go to the farmers market on Saturdays? My apartment building is that grey slab right behind it.

Hamlet Au

Haha yeah, what a trip. I was just at Farmer's Market for the chillaquiles hangover cure.

Delinda Dyrssen

I have a solution for the live music listings. lets all just go to one place to find and list them. I vote for Chestnuts Choices!

Ann Otoole

There is a sl related non LL forum configured for better organization and presentation of events. But I would be criticized for saying where it is. Fact is there are ways to do it outside of SL. But we want LL to make it better inside SL!
