The South by Southwest panel picker went live last week; it's a public voting system which helps SXSW staff select the panels that'll be featured next year at the legendary music/film/interactive conference in Austin, Texas. I know there's several panels related to Second Life, directly or indirectly, and I want to make sure everyone in the community gets a chance to promote them here. Post the link and description in Comments, and if they're sufficiently SL-related, I'll add the link in an updated post. (I'm also a member of the SXSW advisory board, so want to avoid any hint of favoritism for any one panel.)

Using Machinima to Market Your Brand
Machinima, or video made in 3D gaming platforms, is quickly becoming a popular way to market brands. This session will discuss the specific uses of machinima, copyright issues, what game engines work best, and how it can be made for a fraction of the cost of traditional video.

Thank you Pooky for posting the link to the panel on Virtual Television: Collaboration & Communities:
The genre of filmmaking called machinima has achieved mainstream recognition with celebrated productions shot in games like Halo, World of Warcraft and Second Life. Less widely known are the emerging trends in collaborative production using 3D worlds that result in live broadcasts to multiple platforms including into the virtual spaces themselves.
There's already been some wonderful comments made on this panel and every vote of support from the SL community is truly appreciated.
