At Noon today, the US premiere of Perfect World: In Search of Virtual Paradise, a feature-length documentary on virtual worlds with Philip Linden, Jae-Kyung Song from Lineage, and Hilmar Veigar Petursson from EVE Online will screen in Metaplace, the new web-based virtual world conceived by Raph Koster, who also appears in the movie. I've heard consistently great things about it, but due to rights restrictions, Americans haven't been able to see it.
Fittingly enough, the debut will happen in Metaplace itself, and I'll be embedding the theater space here and jumping in to watch. For now, here's an excerpt from the movie:
Come back here at Noon to watch the whole thing for the first time in the States with me and other Metaplace denizens!
This is very interesting. Thanks Hamlet. Can't wait to view the rest. I just don't like the inordinate amount of time spent on Stroker's creations. It gives a wrong impression that Second Life sex objects are the main reason why avatars are there. Anyway, I like finding out about the virtual industries in other cities/countries.
