I'm very happy to welcome longtime Resident Willow Caldera as a New World Notes contributor. Her upcoming new column, "Willow's Playlist", will cover SL's vibrant live music scene, with an emphasis on performers who leverage the medium to its fullest.
"I've been running the gauntlet of Second Life for five years now," she says by way of introduction, "spending much of that time as a reporter and blogger and eventually discovering that my heart lies in machinima. For much of the past year I have been the creative director of Sound'r, a full-service machinima house. (You can see some of the projects we've been working on here.)" This is fortunate for us, because her music reviews, like this one she did last week on Born Again Pagans, will include machinima footage of each performance.
"Through Sound'r I was introduced to Second Life's music community; quietly watching the enthusiasm and enjoyment of both the artists and audience -- not to mention the music itself -- has been a great pleasure, and taking a more active role through NWN will be even more so."
To suggest an SL performer or band she should feature on New World Notes, contact her in-world, email her at sarah at soundr dot net, or post tips in Comments.
