Chestnut Rau’s weekly round-up of upcoming SL events…
One of my favorite holiday traditions is reading Charles Dickens' story A Christmas Carol. This year we will be treated to a reading of this classic tale by the versatile and talented storytellers from West of Ireland. The setting for this production is an immersive London street scene complete with gas street lamps, glowing shop windows and Scrooge & Marley's counting house.
The performance will feature a mix of familiar voices and friends from the WOI community. Chief Storyteller Shandon Loring will reprise his role as “Ebeneezer Scrooge”, the cold-hearted, greedy man, who despises all things which promote happiness. Elder Priestman will lend his warmth to the story as “Bob Cratchit,” Scrooge’s underpaid clerk. The rest of the ensemble includes long list of familiar faces who will surprise and delight the audience." After the performance the audience will be invited to join the cast for a reception.
Monday December 14th at 7pm is the date to remember for this performance. All the performers are volunteers and donations are accepted to support Project Children, a non-profit helping children in Northern Ireland. In West of Ireland. [SLurl teleport at this link]
