Metaverse culture maven ColeMarie Soleil has a revealing interview with Skye Galaxy, the Second Life singer Willow Caldera dubbed Second Life's first likely breakout star. As she's apt to do, Ms. Soleil shot much machinima to accompany the interview, such as Skye's cover of Bjork's "Joga" below, which some say is even better than the original. A bold statement to be sure, but some would say it holds up. See:
Skye sample: "[Second Life] is very much a virtual ecosystem of endless personalities and types of people, and I don’t think I would have met so many offline, where my shyness usually takes over much of what I say and do. I am still a kid, okay maybe twenty is pushing it, but I am just a normal guy trying to ease the dull moments of Suburbia here in Dallas." Not for long I strongly think.
I have been fortunate to experience and be mesmerized several times by Skye. He seems to capture the inward plucking that creating and being in SL provides for our heart strings. His music haunts one's ears and soul, like sitting in front of a crackling fire with the stars and night.
I wish him every success. I hope he never loses the intimacy SL offers to the self, where one can "be" despite shyness in RL.

I have heard Skye many times and he has such an amazing quality to his voice, I really think he will go a long way, and that is coming from someone who is very selective on who she admires musically. His music is incredible, and if he starts writing all his own music, he will go even further. I only hope he keeps his feet on the ground when he takes off, as he is a sweet guy.
