Jacki Morie of USC's Institute for Creative Technologies recently shared this new version of Second Life with me -- displayed in ICT's three screen virtual reality theater. It was built by ICT's Kip Haynes. "[B]asically there are three clients logged in and synched," Jacki tells me. Have a look:
I asked Jacki how it feels to convert Second Life from a small monitor experience to a display that's so all-encompassing. "It does feel amazingly immersive!" She tells me. "No one has gotten nauseous yet, but we need to hook up a game controller or something because the keyboard/mouse interface is not so great!" The display was created as part of ICT's Coming Home project, a therapeutic center for US military veterans based in Second Life.
Way cool! Space Navigator maybe? Reminds me that typists need to get one of those...
