The Emerald Viewer is probably the most popular third party Second Life viewer by far, acclaimed for its performance and added features, but occasionally it generates some controversy. On her own blog, NWN event writer Ms. Chestnut Rau has a fairly thorough look at the ruckus, and why, in the end, the Emerald is worth using. Sample:
There are upwards of 85,000 daily users of the Emerald Viewer. [sic!] With that kind of heavy usage I am pretty sure if there was any credible evidence to suggest the viewer is doing nefarious things I would have found out about it in my hours and hours of research. I found none.
Well, if there is ruckus, it's served Al la Rau with extra helpings of happy and a garnish of one ruckus.
Look, no one denies the viewer is good and packed full of features like no one denies OJ rushed 2000 yards in '73.
Move your hand away from the delete button Hamlet, I am not saying Fractured Crystal hacked anyone's head off here. I am however saying the man behind the Emerald curtain is 57 variates of stuff anyone else would of been exiled for.
The video where he is questioned following alleged "hey look at me" rouge viewer features, Onyx (nee Vlife) with it's source full of questions, an email trail showing he trafficked in not only the RL name of an enemy, but that of his family complete with home and work address, and still more yummy bits to snack on before we have time to mention he was on the grid as a minor selling a viewer that allowed theft.
Assuming we've not been deleted yet, let's close by saying yeah Rau - it does have a ton of cool features.

Honestly I wasn't quite satisfied with the offical clients, That is 2.0 and Emerald, Thus I went looking for Alternate viewers which provided more stability and Features, And was easy to use
I found this website: inflife.net To be the best place to find Alternate Viewers, Hope this helps
Cheers
