Love these new chrome and gold metal skins from sachi Vixen of Adam N' Eve, inspiring fantasies of a sexier T-1000, of if you're old school, Goldfinger. "It was mostly inspired by Metropolis by Fritz Lang and Blade Runner in a roundabout way," Ms. Vixen tells me, "although the androids in that aren't metallic. We just had an urge to do something different and there was also a fashion event a few months ago with a cyberpunk sort of theme that I really fancied being part of..." Though you would think otherwise by looking at her skins, they don't actually reflect light. She created the skins to have relatively low avatar rendering cost, and hand-painted the illusion of liquid high shine. "The basic structure was originally created and baked onto my avatar in ZBrush," Ms. Vixen tells me. "Then it was hand-worked in Photoshop, facial details added and 'make up' options created."

at the risk of increasing my "Ambiguity of Identity" quotient, I rushed right out and bought one of these skins last night. As a gynoid i think it is required. i've had a consistent look for the last five months. i think it's high time to get more ambiguous. this silver metallic skin is that of the classic gynoid, that of Hajime Sorayama's Sexy Robots. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hajime_Sorayama

You do realize this takes only around 10 minutes in PS/Maya ?

Very impressive. I hope male options are in the works.

Thorn: I believe sachi is considering making male versions too. Especially, I would guess, if it seems like there is interest in it. :)

I was going to say the same thing as pefton...isn't this what everyone does as soon as they get 3d software and an avatar model?
