Chouchou, the awesomely innovative Second Life-only music group, is going to unveil a new show at the end of this month, and as you might expect, they've created a new metaverse experience to accompany the performance. Here's a glimpse at their "Memento mori" concert hall, like an alien cathedral for a religion you never knew about that's more profound than you could possibly imagine:
It was co-designed by Chouchou singer juliet Heberle, who tells me it's part of a grander re-opening of three sims:
"One will have the same old Chouchou," she says. "The second one is called Chouchou XVI, and it will have 'The Babel.'" (See that here.)
The final sim will be called Chouchou V, which is the site of Memento mori. "We use V and XVI for the name of our regions from the meaning of the Tarot. V means The Hierophant, and XVI means The Tower, so we made 'The Babel' for the symbol of The Tower. And we made 'Memento mori' for the symbol of The Hierophant. We wanted it to be the solemn place where people feel sanctity in SL." That's where Juliet and her collaborator Arabesque Choche will perform, matching their music to the space, for as she says, "[W]e want to show those kind of images as much as we can, in order to let people feel our songs, not just [hear them]." Concert dates and times coming soon!
