This is among the more impressive Second Life avatars I've seen, a marriage of sculpted prims [see update below], realistic animations, and a violion:
Its creation was led by metaverse developer Timmi Allen, who built the creature in Blender. He took the animation for the violin from a 2D movie, and used a program he created to convert the 2D visual data into 3D. Right now, you'll only see Allen's alien on the Aditi preview grid, but Timmi hints to me that it's part of a larger project. "More I cannot say now," he tells me. In any case, keep an eye out for nozzle-nosed classicists.
Hat tip: Make My Worlds, a metaverse developer blog with a lot to say about Linden Lab's current condition, including the possibility of oddly beautiful aliens such as these.
Update, 2pm: I'm told these are actually meshes, an upcoming feature.
Wow that is quite impressive.. is he playing the music too?

the meshes are great. What caught my eye was the animation and sync with the music.

What Ann said...
plus as a violinist I am madly in love with Paganini. One of my favorite films is about him where he is portrayed by my favorite actor Klaus Kinski. Anyhow. This video was cool :D

Take notice of the shadow following his every move too. Very impressive fluid motions and yeah the music in complete alignment with his playing. This is "wow" factor stuff.
