Tomorrow (Saturday), punk-flavored fairy Ms. ColeMarie Soleil will perform three live shows in Second Life, and you should catch her if you can:
- Noon SLT at The Cove [SLurl teleport at this link]
- 6pm SLT at The Shed [SLurl teleport at this link]
- 8pm SLT at Whispering Ruins [SLurl teleport at this link]
Coley sometimes covers Second Life locations and the arts for New World Notes (as here), and does great machinima of her own (as here), but I first discovered her as a composer and singer, performing in Second Life with an emotional rawness and scorching alt-indie flair that's unique in SL's music scene. If you need more convincing, watch the video above, featuring ColeMarie covering Fever Ray's "I'm Not Done". (Accompanying machinima made by her, of course. Ani DiFranco sings pretty good and all, but I bet she can't shoot her own music videos, least not with a giant rabbit in a hoodie.)
So much focus on whats happening in Second Life about now. This event, Cory's talk, plus others. Its like Linden is wheeling out the big guns. Perhaps Linden Labs wants to take the focus off OSGrids 3rd birthday celebrations, along with Opensimulators release of 0.7. The later being one of the most signifcant back end releases since the inception of OpenSimulator(What all those new Unity based Front Ends connect to on the server side).
