Last Friday a publicist contacted me, cheerfully announcing that Emerald, the third party SL viewer developed by Modular Systems and now exiled from Second Life, had been welcomed by the CEO of another virtual world to participate in that one. I was skeptical at first, but indeed that is the case:
“This is an enthusiastic group of developers who also love spending time in virtual worlds. They know what a Viewer needs to do to make the user happy because they use it themselves,” said Brian Shuster, CEO of Utherverse. “... We are very happy to have started up a new relationship with Modular Systems developers.”
More here, if you're so inclined. This is maybe the third post about Emerald since I said I'd promised to no longer blog about Emerald, but I'm starting to feel like metaverse Michael Corleone: "Just when I thought I was out blogging... they pull me back in." But then, like that line is only thing anyone remembers about Godfather III, I'm pretty sure that is my last word on that.
I enjoyed using the Emerald viewer, but now that it's no longer allowed, I use something else. Imprudence is a great choice and Phoenix seems to be doing very well also. I'm in Second Life for SL and not for some viewer. The Emerald team is pretty crazy to think people would leave SL just for the viewer and then follow them to an unstable little porn world that offers next to nothing in content creation.

I wish the Emerald team all the best in their legitimate endeavors. Hopefully, they will take this chance to adopt professionalism as a value.

Perhaps the plan is for Arabella to work the voice phone sex lines in the little porn world. I think that Arabella's voice is perfect for that line of work.

@Little Lost Linden not that I'm a fangirl for Arabella, but over here Mate Arabella's voice is quite normal...I'm sure if we over the pond (Australia, NZ) ...continued to belittle any U.S citizen or UK resident or anyone actually who, about their perfectly normal accent we would be called racist, as we should. LLL you need to get out more! I've seen derogatory comments about her voice all over, stick to what is important here, criticise her actions, but really get over your own snobbishness and accept differences...sheesh...NOT Funny!

@Pairsley: No one said anything about accents. Arabella's microphone is simply horrid. :)

@Adeon Writer...as we say down here "thats a load of Bull Crap!" her mic is fine I know we sound checked her. And you are wrong its ALL About the accent read up about it Mate...

What was that thing Sean Connery said about never playing James Bond again, back in the Sixties or Seventies...?

What the hecks wrong with those of you that don't like other accents....grow up! The only ppl in the USA that all speak with the same accent are radio/TV "personalities".
One of my SL friends speaks 5 or 6 languages...probably all of them with an accent!

Last I checked Phox locked everyone but Arabella out from the website and svn. More then likely Skills and probably JCool (Fractured Crystal) are back in especially since JCool owns ModularSystems and hinted at trade marking Emerald as a ModularSystems product (which may be one of the reasons behind the resurrection of Emerald as Phoenix by the legit devs). So this Porn Grid more then likely has all the Griefer/Blackhat devs from Emerald working for them. Best of luck to them, they're gonna need it.

Am I the only one who sees "Utherverse" and sees a virtual world based on the King Arthur legend?

He said "Voice", not "accent". There IS a difference. YOu're the only one makin' it about accents, Paisley. And the implication of his comment is that he evidently finds it sexy (to each his own,, I guess). Untwist your knickers, already, sheesh.

@Arcadian, um not in this case dear, might be your interpretation but no one else sees it that way....And I'll always twist my knickers if I see discrimination and accentism rear its ugly head.

She has a big obnoxious mouth that I pray will never hear again.
It's hardly racist when every ethnic group has their share of folks with wide-open pie holes.
