Gorgeous Yongho of Juicy Bomb has a very excellent tutorial post for shooting Second Life fashion with dynamic shadows enabled, as above. She mentions one of my posts on dynamic shadows, which has subsequently given me crazy traffic, so I figure there are lots of fashionistas interested in adding shadow to their Second Life fashion. If you're one of them, go right to the Gorgeous source already.

Shadows are nice. This might also help a bit projected texture or light will cast a shadow also.
In other words not just light from Sun and Moon so you can set up multiple light sources. Here is a short clip to show

I've got to make sure dynamic shadows are off before I do the photography for my comics, otherwise a short shoot ends up taking forever. Shadows can be added during post-production if they're needed.

I feel when doing fashion shots a plain background is far more effective, you want your focus to be on the clothing and not the background.
