Over on the Blue Mars blog (which I'm helping developing as a consultant), there's an interview with Artificial Intelligence Software Engineer, Mark Boon. (By Jasmine Spearing.) A programmer from the Netherlands now living in Hawaii, Boon develops "Iams", the AI-powered bots in the Blue Mars SDK (like the guide bot at left.)
Speaking of development, the latest build of Blue Mars has an "Updated" date, indicating when a city was edited to include new or revised content -- almost like an RSS for 3D places.
That photo is uncanny...
I just hope BM doesn't have as bad of a problem with bots as SL has had in the past (and continues to have).

Until Blue Mars works on a Mac I can't get there. Keeping my eye on it though!

I tried it and it is still in it's very early stages.
The avatars are horrible. Who was it that decided to include mouth gaping open as a standard animation? It was awful to see my avatar grimacing and opening her mouth for no reason.
