Chestnut Rau's Weekly Roundup of Upcoming Events...
Every year, the best traditions of the Burning Man Festival -- art builds, music and live performers are brought together in the virtual space of Second Life in a unique celebration. Hundreds of volunteers welcome thousands of visitors in a fall festival dedicated to Art, Fire and Community. This year the Festival, called Burn2, is a six sim event and unlike prior years is completely conceived, created and funded by users with no help from Linden Lab.
Burn2 runs all day and all night from Saturday 10/16 to Sunday 10/24. Visitors will enjoy creative builds and interactive experiences at 88 donation camps, 12 theme camps, and 25 lottery camps. In addition, six artist were invited to create special works for the Festival. They are Bryn Oh, AM Radio, soror Nishi, Madcow Cosmos, Maya Paris and Corvaire Wind. There are two stages operating around the clock. The Center Camp is primarily for live performers and the Berlin Stage is primarily for DJs.
