Hamlet Gets a Minecraft Avatar & Minecraft Gets a New Blog!

Punching Trees is the absolutely perfect name for a new blog devoted to Minecraft, the punk rock of user-generated 3D content. Named by Sehra Kauffman and written by SL Resident Bone Mosten (who was Second Life's hottest male avatar of 2008), it's still in its birth pangs, but Bone was awesome enough to make me this Minecraft version of my Hamlet avatar. "I used SkinEdit to rough out the basic design," Bone tells me, "then I use Photoshop (or Paint.net, when I'm at work) to fine tune the colors. You don't have many pixels to work with (8 x 8 for the face, for example) so color choice becomes critical." My last post on Minecraft was featured on Boing Boing, Metafilter, and Laughing Squid, so I'm seriously considering a spin-off blog called New Minecraft Notes. Even moreso now that I got a Minecraft avatar.

Nice Minecraft avatar. If you do the spinoff, you should take a look at the full gamut of procedural sandbox platforms, including the even more graphically challenged (yet highly complex) Dwarf Fortress.

After all we are talking about Minecraft..to be honest I don't really thing that there is something as unique and braind developing like this amazing creation. And no one would say it but this is true(well not no one , but very few people).
Face it this is the Top at the moment, even people like M.H Ferara and www.mc-server-list.com said that.
