By a wide margin, New World Notes readers have selected bluesmaster Von Johin as their favorite among folk, bluegrass, country, and blues performers in Second Life. This video from his YouTube channel will give you a hint why:
I profiled Von Johin a couple years ago after he landed a real world record deal on the strength of his SL performances. (He started playing in Second Life after a chance encounter in a Nashville grocery store, of all places.) I hope to catch up with him soon, but meantime, enjoy some of his fantastically gravelly blues above.
Thanks for the kinds votes here, ya'll I could use the press with the record finally getting out, and I'm so happy I was in such great company on the list. Yeah, looks like some folks was missing but I guess the readers here didn't get them listed or something, but I would love to have seen Noma, Blue and some others here that I know well in the SL world. THese things are just for fun, certainly not scientific, and in the grand scheme of things are just a fun little thing to do that should not be taken too seriously.
None the less, thank you all who voted me with your other three choices. I do appreciate it, and I like reading this blog when I get the chance.
