Last August we were talking about "From Dust", a dynamic nature simulator lead developed by Eric Chahi, creator of the groundbreaking, early 90's AMIGA classic Out of This World (aka Another World in Europe.) Qarl Fizz recently alerted me to this coolness: You can play Out of This World on the web here, thanks to a port by hardcore fan Gil Megidish. Using evocative, minimalist, almost abstract graphics, Chahi creates an immersive adventure set in a surreal alien landscape that's still compelling (especially on the web.) But when's the iOS port coming out?

*lol* That's funny because i remember how long it took us to get this game. We had to download it from a warez board via a rather slow dial up connection. Yes well, we had no money for games because were just a bunch of poor kids (not to mention the efforts to get Flashback, what was also awesome). This was so awesome and today after seeing the play through at Youtube, I really wonder how I ever managed to finish it. I mean, many sequences just don't make sense to me anymore but for some reason it was clear to me in earlier days. Now, Dust looks so awesome. I'm glad Eric is still in business. In this days, it was also very very awkward to be a girl into such kind of stuff. I wonder if he can realize how much influence he had on a whole generation of (well...) computer nerds. For sure, there is no single Amiga veteran who don't know this particular game.
