This is pretty awesome (and by "awesome", I mean too comically recursive to inspire annoyance): An Eastern European social game company is marketing its FarmVille knock-off with Second Life content. I only discovered this because the ad on the left popped up yesterday on Facebook, and thinking it might be a FarmVille-type game someone had built within Second Life -- which might be kinda cool -- I clicked through. Only to get a knockoff of FarmVille. (Which come to think of it, is itself a knockoff of a predecessor, Farm Town.) But at the very least, we have a peculiarly innovative new use case for Second Life -- creating 3D screenshots for a Facebook ad for a 2.5D Facebook game.

Now I'm sad. Thanks.

All farmers look like that screen shot.

"a FarmVille-type game someone had built within Second Life -- which might be kinda cool"
I am just going to pretend that you didn't say that.

@Alvi, it's the funniest thing in the world. I am rehabbing an old farm in all of my free RL time. Let me tell you...it's anything but a game :)

I stopped playing Farmville when I realized I could hire undocumented workers to play it for me, letting them do all the work while I sat on my lazy backside and counted the profits.
But the brats unionized and demanded minimum wage, so I ratted them out to INS. Buncha criminal thugs, if you ask me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm selling all the stuff they left behind on Ebay.

thought something like farmville in sl would be cool too...but with more of a roleplaying community feel. if there are breedable horses and cats and stuff, why not food that grows and is "farmed" in sl?
