While the Second Life sim called Egypt is still festooned with pro-Mubarak billboards, another Egyptian-themed place is opening its arms to anti-Murbarak supporters: Click this SLurl to travel to Terra Egypta. It's a four sim tribute to ancient Egypt, but now it includes pro-democracy signs at the entrance. "We put up [the signs] a day ago, after the thugs in Egypt attacked the people in Tahrir," Kamille Demina, one of the sims' owners, tells me. "That was all I could take, personally, so our little group decided to do something, not matter how small it is in the larger scheme of things... At this moment we are all in Tahrir Square, this is an historic event which can choose to either ignore, or engage, and I choose to offer whatever support I can to those seeking Freedom in Egypt."
Update, 3:40PM: For more background, the Second Life region called Egypt, which was the original meeting place for Egyptian protest supporters in the Middle East and beyond, is now festooned with large pro-Mubarak banners.
Thanks for the info. I belong to an arts collective which has involved itself with the conflict in Cairo. It never occurred to me to visit the sim. /me heads over to Egypt SL
