Iris Ophelia's ongoing review of virtual world and MMO fashion
There's less than a week left to get ready for Valentine's day, so today and tomorrow I'll be providing some tips to ensure you'll have the perfect digital date. Tomorrow we'll have a special lovers edition of Miss Metaverse Manners (so submit your romance questions while you still can!) but today I'm going to share a few very romantic outfits to take you from evening to night with your dream Valentine!
For my first outfit, I asked SL's blogging blonde bombshell, Gogo of Juicybomb, to give me a hand (in the spirit of Bloggers We Love Week). Gogo has a very classically sexy style, so she was an easy choice for a sexy valentine look. For her date outfit, she's rocking the gorgeously glam (and incredibly detailed) Acira mini-dress by Zaara Kohime of Zaara [SLurl], with the shimmery silver Stella clutch by Valena Glushenko of ORTA [SLurl]. For her post-date look, Gogo's wearing the Soignee lingerie set from Fishy Strawberry [SLurl], one of the best places on the grid for super sexy skivvies. She's also wearing hair from Vive 9, skin from LeLutka, blush from her own brand cheLLe, eyeliner from Tuli, and jewelry from Donna Flora.
If you've got a Sexy Valentine like Gogo on your arm, consider taking her out on a red carpet shopping spree at a glamorous shop like Bijou [SLurl].
But what if you've got another kind of virtual Valentine lined up? Keep reading for more!
While Gogo is the perfect Sexy Valentine, I'd characterize myself more as a Sweet one. I had to pick one of the adorable dresses at *G Field* by Cerberus Noel [SLurl] for my date look, and the cape-covered Glinda was the perfect choice (to keep off any lingering winter chills, of course). For my post-date attire, I opted for one of the modest yet alluring Floral Lingerie sets from Mon Tissu [SLurl], the store at the heart of one of my favorite new sims. Both of these outfits feature lace trim and bows, practically mandatory motifs for dressing sweetly for Valentine's Day. I'm also wearing skin from Natural Beauty, hair from Exile, a necklace from Donna Flora, and glasses from Lazy Places.
Consider taking your Sweet Valentine to a Second Life cafe-- the one at iTutu [SLurl] is even sweeter than its prim cakes!
If life was all Sweet and Sexy, I have to admit it would get a little boring-- that's where a Punk Valentine fits in. For her date outfit, I opted for something futuristicly grungy, the MoonDiver outfit by aoimizuno Meili of LPP [SLurl]. LPP may seem a little pricey, but the extensive and clever use of prim attachments makes every outfit stand out in a crowd. For the post-date ensemble, I decided to flirt with the pinup side of the punk spectrum, and chose one of the vintage-inspired lingerie sets from LoveLace's new 2011 collection [SLurl], Stella. I layered it with the Peony and Peacock tattoo by Kaori Masala of dEVOL, which is loaded with very seasonal shades of red and pink. I'm also wearing skin from Curio, hair from Lamb, nails by Love Soul, a very romantic motorcycle by Pure Rage Custom Choppers, and a pair of elf ears from Scribble (since elf ears have become a signature of this niche in SL.)
If you've got a Punk Valentine lined up, take them out for an adventure in one of SL's jaw-dropping cyberpunk sims, like sick [SLurl].
What kind of virtual Valentine are you; Sexy, Sweet, Punk, or something else? Tell me in the comments (and don't forget to check back in tomorrow for some very valuable Valentine etiquette advice!)

I love you, Iris. But you forgot the "Valentine's Day Can Kiss My Ass!" look! Somebody's gotta represent the haters!
