Who ever heard of a company admitting to an error where an employee firing was concerned, no matter how stupid and obvious the error was?

qarl

yeah - it does seem pretty unlikely. but then, i've received contact from old friends inside the lab about it - so who knows?

WendyOfNeverland

I don't know the details. Was Qarl actually "fired" or part of the mass layoffs? If he was laid off, then it's not all that uncommon to bring an employee back after a period of separation.

Shockwave Plasma

I want Qarl back...but he has to have a Zombie avatar for the first 3 months

Robustus Hax

Not only should they re-hire Q, he should not have to "resubmit" a resume, and should be able to work on whatever features he pleases. Also I'm not done, your commander must cross that field, present himself before this army, put his head between his legs, and kiss his own arse. Oh sorry, wrong movie.

Indigo Mertel

As the person who started that petition, I certainly wish to see Qarl back. My best wishes to Qarl, hope it all works out for the best.

Casius Masala

Move along, the Lindens working there now are not the Lindens you are Looking for.

draxtor

Hire the man!! NOW!

Melanie

Yes, bring him back!

Aquarius Paravane

Thanks to Qarl, one of the most tedious and timewasting building tasks - setting and aligning textures to match seamlessly - has been eliminated. What used to take ages now takes a few mouseclicks, on box prims at least. I might go as far as to say that a once-hated chore is now fast, easy and fun. I'd be delighted if Qarl would come back and do the same for cylinders! And I'd look forward with excitement to all the other ideas he could bring to SL.

Melissa Yeuxdoux

For heaven's sake, hire him back, give him a raise, and let him do what he does best: giving us the tools to make SL a far more visually interesting place.

ColeMarie Soleil

Bring him back yo. For real.

Hitomi Tiponi

With Q - the team technical lead and stand-in product/business lead - having now left the Snowstorm team, it seems that there is only Merov around with any substantial technical knowledge. LL desperately needs Lindens who understand Second Life.

Ehrman Digfoot

I just reread the post and realized he is the creator of the alignment tool. This is the only reason I ever switch to a third-party viewer these days. It would really be great if we could have that in the main build. Hire him back.

Arcadia Codesmith

My impression of his work is that Karl's a smart, strategic investment for ANY studio, including LL. Hire him back before Playdom/Disney kidnaps and brainwashes him.
