Warner Brothers just announced that it will sell viewings of its movies, beginning with its most popular product, Dark Knight, for virtual currency. (In this case, Facebook Credits, which are now largely used to buy virtual goods in social games.) There may be other examples of a major corporation selling its premium content for virtual goods, but I can't think of any so prominent as this. Assuming this deployment succeeds (and it's hard to see how it won't), we are sure to see other corporations following suit. The next milestone to watch for is a major corporation selling physical products for virtual goods. (Off the top of my head, my bet is it'll be a physical product used for accessing more virtual content, i.e. an Amazon Kindle or an iPad.)
