Blogging's off to a slow start today because I spent most of last night engrossed with Portal 2, easily the best example of immersive storytelling I've played in years. Most of the game's writing is by a couple of old friends, Eric Wolpaw and Chet Faliszek, who before joining Valve used to slag me mercilessly (and flatteringly) for my Salon writing on games in the legendary Old Man Murray, and consequently, are great guys to hang out with in person. I'll write more about Portal 2 when I'm through the whole storyine, but for now, here's a viral ad for the game (presumably written by Chet and Eric), a brilliant parody of a shareholders' presentation from Aperture, the game's dystopian corporation. Cave Johnson!

Oh man. Yes, it's currently consuming all my free time. Not finished yet, but I can't say much about it because it's so spoiler ridden. In fact I have been avoiding Twitter and game sites until i am finished as to avoid sccidently spoiling anything for myself.
It's a blast so far.
Good luck!
