Strawberry Singh recently started a fun challenge: Publish your avatar digits, i.e. the numbers on your avatar's body adjustment slider. Ms. Singh's readers have posted dozens of digits in the comment thread for the original post, while SL bloggers have also jumped in on the fun. (For instance, here's Clear Canning's curvaceous digits.) NWN style columnist Iris Ophelia has posted her digits in the photo above. With all these numbers out there, I'd love to see a couple follow-up posts from Second Life fashion bloggers (he unsubtly hinted):
- What are the average digits of these avatars, and what does this avatar look like?
- If these digits were extrapolated to a real person, what would their measurements be?
If you take a stab at either, oh SL blogger, please post a link in Comments below. And be sure to start at the source, Ms. Strawberry Singh.
UPDATE, 11:50AM: In Comments, Missy Restless reports that there's a Flickr group for SL avatar digits (with well over 200 digitized avatars!)
There is also a Flickr group "What's your Digits" at http://www.flickr.com/groups/digits/

run the numbers. of the 1.69 x 10**189 combinations of individual slider choices available for avatar appearance the most compelling importance to the select group is to compare one's numbers to everyone else's. i must admit, i almost fell in line to prove my freakish proportions were acceptable to the masses. fortunately, being different doesn't come easy to most.

Vaki Zenovka did some calculations for us with the digits, you can see her post about it here:

I've never understood why the digits aren't related to real life numbers. I mean wouldn't it be easier if they could be described in metric or imperial right in the viewer?
