This is a dragonskin dress by Sachi Vixen of Adam n Eve, modeled and photographed by Freyja for Hippoi Athanatoi, and it's inspired by Game of Thrones, the HBO series based on George R. R. Martin's cult fantasy novels. Here's Gidge Uriza modeling the same outfit in another setting.
Not satisfied to just show this off as a Thrones-tribute, Harper Beresford took photos of the same ensemble (left), then wrote up a whole new fictional ethnography around it. (In other words, a virtual fashion spread about a fantasy race inspired by a totally different fantasy television series which is in turn based on some fantasy novels.)
Evidently Ms. Vixen has been making other Game of Thrones-inspired ensembles, because here's Fianna of My SL Closet in a Khaleesi get-up. (No, I haven't read the novels or seen the show, because I'm waiting for Martin to fricking finish them first.) Anyway, looks like all this Martiny, dragony, horsie hijinx is available on a sim called Genesis. [Click here to teleport].
His fifth book is out now. I read the first four this spring into summer and now am on the fifth. In the meantime, I read The Hunger Games series. I am surprised no one has done pieces for that for SL (because the author is very detailed in her clothing descriptions). I did my version here: Katniss

Aw and my fictional ethnography was made up entirely in my mind--based on nothing but sachi's work ;)
