Iris Ophelia's ongoing review of virtual world and MMO fashion
It's that time of year again... Believe it or not, this is my fourth year of posting about Second Life swimwear and summer styles on New World Notes. A quick glance at my summer styles post from 2007 shows how the quality of SL fashion (and fashion photography, yikes!) has evolved over the years. I've picked out six adorable swimsuit to share with you this year. Today I'll be talking about three adorable one-piece suits--items that can be pretty hard to find in SL's seemingly endless sea of sexy bikinis!
Two Weeks, by Minami Susanowa of tulip. [Click here to teleport to tulip. at WARRUMBUNGLES]
One of the secrets to finding great one-piece swimsuits in Second Life is to search for bodysuits, their trendy loungewear cousin. Not every bodysuit will be suitable of course, but this one from tulip. is a perfectly sweet choice. Its muted print is a bonus, since the often blindlingly bold prints of swimwear may not go with a softer personal style. Along with the Two Weeks bodysuit, I'm also wearing hair from Truth, glasses from NALA, and earrings from Magic Nook.

Abegail Multiway Top, by Khea Kara of MALT [Click here to teleport to MALT]
No, you didn't misread that, this is technically a shirt. It even comes with a little sleeve addition. However it also comes with a bodysuit add-on that transforms it from gorgeous draped top to strikingly chic swimsuit. Sculpted prim clothing attachments like Abegail's draping chest piece can take a lot of editing to look right, so if you struggle to edit your prims you may want to stick with something simpler. Also pictured are a pair of earring released by fri.day for the Albero Summer Gacha Festival, and a boyish bob hairstyle from Taketomi.
Retro Onepiece, by Jumah Monday of fri.day [Click here to teleport to fri.day at FRIDAY]
fri.day recently released a ton of new suits, so it might seem odd that I would pick one of their older releases to highlight. fri.day is a great shop to get basic clothic staples, but they tend to shy away from prints. Lately I've gone print-crazy, so out of all the swimwear available at their store, this pinup swimsuit, featuring a design they call Cherrybomb, was an easy choice. I partiularly love the style of the tie at the back of the neck; rather than a standard stringy bow, this suit features a chunkier and much more original-looking knot. I just can help but enjoy an often overlooked design detail like this.
I'm also wearing hair from elikatira, piercings from Hebanon Vial, and ink from Para Designs.
Next week I'll share the second part of my summer swimwear coverage, featuring three steamy bikinis. Until then, enjoy the sun!
