I mean, just look at it. SL mesh may still be difficult for curvy avatars to wear, but that isn't a problem if you want your avatar to be a Little Big Planet-esque craftwork guy like this one. *DL* Flufee avatar by Dirty Lynx, as as photographed by Honour McMillan and modeled by Diana Renoir.

Maybe LL's advertising should be showing just how wonderful you can look in SL, rather than looking like yourself. Dirty Lynx's new mesh avatars are a great start to the way avatars will look in the future - and they are so low-lag.

I spotted this avatar at Help Island Public a few weeks ago and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Up close, it is truly stunning, and as Hitomi said, it felt like a glimpse into the future. I posted about the experience, with photo and a video trailer from Dirty Lynx, at chromeneversleeps DOT com.

Flufee is the star of the beginning mesh era. I have one too.
Draxtor Despres and Pooky Amsterdam have made a video with Flufee as main actor. It's very funny:

Last month I made the painful(for me) decision to finally abandon my viewer 1.x, and I haven't regretted it. Mesh is exactly the kind of thing SL needs, although I personally feel that it was given too high a priority. Fix what's broken FIRST, then create new things to break.
I am looking forward to the next few months as new mesh businesses establish themselves. Hopefully we will see these businesses in-world, and not just on the marketplace.

I've been using the experimental mesh branch of Cool VL Viewer, and it seems pretty stable to me, so there's always that option for people who still want their viewer 1.x look and feel.
