From Hypatia Pickens comes "Love Prayer", a beautifully shot and edited machinima inspired by a Finnish love song, "Tam Lin", which Pickens places within a fairy tale about love, desire, and the dark prices we may pay for both. Also great use of diverse avatars, and Soror Nishi's enchanted psychedelic trees. Contains some mildly NSFW elements.
"Love Prayer" is on my shortlist for the University of Western Australia's machinima contest this year (click here to see all the entries), which I'm helping judge along on this criterion.
