Iris Ophelia's ongoing review of virtual world and MMO fashion
It feels like it's been forever since we had a new fashion fair to get excited about, and that may be why Vintage Fair has practically exploded since it opened this past weekend [Teleport to Vintage Fair in CLASSIC]. Unfortunately, that means that getting into the Fair (and moving around) still isn't an easy process. So between now and when the fair closes on December 3rd I'll be featuring outfits full of Vintage Fair finds to help point you in the right directions once you manage to brave the crowds (and the lag). Today I'm going to start out simple and classic...
- Polka dots are not an easy print to master in SL design because of the avatar mesh's habit of stretching textures unevenly, but I think this sweet little dress from Indie Rose tackled the polka dot problem admirably well.
- Alice Project's mesh hairstyles are some of the best out there right now, so their latest pinup inspired style available at the fair, named Annette, doesn't disappoint. You can even add some flawless bangs to the look if you want to frame your face.
- Speaking of faces, I love this smooth, sophisticated skin from Lara Hurley, appropriately named Dita. If you love red lips with sultry cateye liner, you'll be spoiled for choice at Vintage Fair.
- Vintage Fair also has it's share of pose makers, like oOo Studio who made the very coy pose I'm using with this look.
Vintage Fair isn't just about the retro chic styles popularized by shows like Mad Men, though. You can find styles from every era of the 20th century, for dames and gents alike. Consider the 80s inspired sweater I wore in last week's Miss Metaverse Manners header, a Vintage Fair find from Gawk! (paired with another VF release, Heartsick's new Monroe skin.)
