Popular SL fashion blogger Ms. Strawberry Singh has a very useful post on how to promote your Second Life brand in Facebook. But wait, won't using Facebook link your real life name with your SL avatar? Well no, not if you do as Strawberry does here:
And as Strawberry says there: "Remember to pay close attention to the 'Your Settings' tab and make sure to check your posting preferences so you are posting as your avatar and not with your RL name, if that’s how you created the page. This is important if you wish to keep your RL name private." It's just that simple. Advantages of sharing on Facebook? Well, many, such as:
The official SL fan page of Facebook keeps growing, and now has nearly 250,000 members. And you can create Facebook ads that target your page at people who are fans of SL's page. And by default, any time someone on Facebook "Likes" a content update from your page, their friends also see that Like, thus magnifying your promotion power. I'd say roughly 15-20% of New World Notes' total traffic comes from Facebook, and that's from a few minutes of daily effort. So read what Ms. Singh says, and visit her Facebook page (categorized as a "Fictional Character") for inspiration.
And, well, consider clicking "Like" on this post below. Because, you know.
Which will work right up to the time that FB changes something, and allllll those privacy features are cleared again by default. THEN you'll be visible by your real name, like it or not.
FB routinely changes privacy settings for people with zero warning. Do not count on FB to keep anything private -- if you give it to them then count on it being made public at some point. The only way to truly be safe with them is to not give them any data to begin with, or false names such as "Throatwarbler Mangrove".

Unlike Google +, there's no need to have a Facebook RL profile to create a Facebook page, so you can merrily have pages for your SL brands without having a Facebook profile with your RL name associated with it.
