In March 2002 or roughly thereabouts, a web designer and mother of four children from Southern California accepted an early invite to explore a new virtual 3D space called Linden World, and chose the avatar name Steller Sunshine. I write about her in my book, but the ultimate upshot of her first night in-world is an object that still (to my knowledge) exists in Second Life, as the first instance of user-generated content: A giant beanstalk. Last I heard, Ms. Sunshine is still in SL (though perhaps more often in another avatar guise), so if you see her profile in-world, do wish her a happy 10th anniversary.
Thanks to fellow veteran Eggy Lippman for the tip; image credit from Steller's site.
And a happiest of rezdays to her!

Yay - congratulations Stellar Sunshine. Tried the beanstalk last year and it is still a good puzzle.

Her 10th rezdate will be March 13th, pretty amazing. And the beanstalk is indeed still there --

It’s a really great site you have here. Thank you for the effort to be so good for us (even though we don`t deserve it) and keep it up.
