Republia Times is a casual web game with a crazy clever concept: You play the editor of a dictatorship's propaganda newspaper, and have to click and drag a stream of incoming news stories into the next edition's layout. That means you have to quickly get the gist of each headline, and only choose those which will build loyalty and trust among the people. Select too many negative headlines (i.e. the truth), and you lose your job -- and your family, who the state is holding. It's like Tetris where the blocks are shaped by reading comprehension, and it's a brilliant interactive metaphor on the power of mass media. There's also a clever and challenging twist in the gameplay that I won't reveal, but if you can figure it out, please share in Comments. (For make glorious benefit blogger New World Notes.)
