Speaking of Alyx Aerallo, who shot that beautiful virtual nature pic below, she also has an SL fashion blog you'll likely like to look at. Above for instance is her in a form-fitting mesh leather jacket, which she found after some frustration, trying to find fashion to fit her more athletic form:
"There’s plenty of women’s mesh clothing that I like," as she puts it, "but it seems that you have to have an hourglass shape to wear it and to be honest that just doesn’t fit my style. So imagine how pleased I was to discover mesh at Opium (LAD)! And without the size 100 boob requirement too!" Get all the details on her fashion search here.
Interjection from an avatar owner whose avatar doesn't have boobs -- is mesh fashion really that pre-disposed toward crazily curvacious avatars?
Yes. Mesh fashion is really that pre-disposed towards very curvaceous avatars (not size 100 boobs, but yes, it does enforce an hourglass figure). I've blogged about that, repeatedly, since mesh first came out -- you've even linked to my comments on it, Hamlet.
More interestingly, mesh designers are always hearing feedback that mesh doesn't give people large enoughbreasts, and would like even curvier options. Some mesh designers, such as Bare Rose and elymode (I know there are others, but those come to mind), have created options for more curvy avatars.
For those of us who aren't curvy, though, our options are extremely limited, and unlike system clothes or sculpts, we can't just shrink down men's mesh wear to work for us (every now and then there's menswear that fits women, but it's rare).
Hopefully the mesh deformer will help, but even that doesn't offer much hope, because while the deformer allows mesh to expand, it doesn't allow mesh to contract -- in other words, even once the deformer comes out, if a designer's default shape is that hourglass with large breasts, they're not going to flatten when worn by a woman with small breasts.

Those who aren't curvy, can use the XXS size in standard sizes, and it will fit.
If one actually looks at the dials for mesh fitting, and reads what dials 'Standard Sizes' relates to, they will realize that its about thin to overweight, with curvy in the middle. Not about height...
I keep reading this 'designers aren't making clothes for 'fat / curvy / normal / thin' folks. But that is EXACTLY what designers -ARE- making...
Roughly, on a shorter avatar;
XXS = Waiflike
XS = Normal
S = Curvy
M = Plus sized
L = Overweight
On a taller avatar, due to the "Close Encounters" alienish-deforming from being stretched like a rubber band that is common in SL;
XXS = Famine Victim
XS = Waiflike
S = Normal
M = Curvy
L = Plus Sized / Overweight

Well, sure, Pussycat, XXS is an option if breast size is the only thing that matters to you. But there are other dimensions to consider, including shoulder breadth, waist size, torso muscles, and so on, and that's just for the upper body. For me, an XXS doesn't come anywhere close to fitting -- I'm a S or M depending on the designer (and that's after adjusting my shape to conform a little more closely to standard sizing). My shape is meant to look athletic and strong, not skinny, which is what XXS offers.
That said, XXS may be an option after the deformer, if designers don't give non-curvy options.

XXS or Xs fits me usually well since I am short and with my curves well adjusted to fit the shape in a realistic way. However it is no wonder that the current mesh clothing has a problem in fitting all the different shapes since the designers can't make different items for every possible shape.
The deformer - one of them since a second deformer appeared lately that uses a different method then the one quarl made - should help with it and I totally look forward to see how it will turn out.
After all I don't change my shape to fit the clothing and only buy the mesh that fits me.
Luckily I found enough that fit very well so I can be happy.
