Telly is a new social video service that makes it easy for you to share online video with your friends -- i.e. pretty much Pinterest for video. Except unlike Pinterest, lead developer John Hurliman tells me, Telly has "a heavier emphasis on social interaction." Veteran SLers will remember Hurliman as the avatar known as Eddie Stryker, leading innovator in open source Second Life applications at Intel and beyond, who went on to launch Cull.TV with former Linden Katherine de Leon. Cull was recently acquired, the technology was incorporated into the new project, and the result, boom, is Telly:
"It's a pivot from Cull's acquiring company, Twitvid," Eddie tells me. "It's a separate technology stack from Cull, but I've been bringing integrating a lot of the content magic into Telly that we worked on at Cull. "
So behold. I bet someone could create a very cool SL machinima channel, he blatantly hinted.
Can't even use the service without logging in via facespam or email handover.
Guess this means cull.tv will be getting turned off at some point?
