Janine "Iris Ophelia" Hawkins' ongoing review of gaming and virtual world style
There's a lot of absolutely horrifying Second Life artwork popping up in time for Halloween, and unlike the rest of the year that horror isn't in the form of ultra-tacky avatars with ridiculously dated accessories. Halloween has fashionistas, photographers, and everyone in between testing out their artistic chops with virtual world images that can really make your skin crawl. Case in point: This untitled pic by Petra Messioptra. Petra's always a pretty fierce looking fashionista, but her latest shot takes fierceness who a whole new level.
Although there is certainly some Photoshop at work here, you might be surprised at just how achievable both of these two avatar styles are. Even that monstrous visage on the right isn't a creation of Photoshop, but an item you can pick up for yourself at Horrorfest 2013.
If you want to see this gruesome picture in all its uncropped glory, or get the complete outfit notes so that you can recreate either look yourself, check out Petra's original post on Vitabela. And of course, feel free to share some of the most haunting virtual world images you've seen lately in the comments below!
