Janine "Iris Ophelia" Hawkins' ongoing review of gaming and virtual world style
Kowloon's always an impressive place to visit no matter what time of year it is, but right now might be a better time than ever before. The densely built Second Life and highly detailed sim has been a staple location for virtual tourists and photographers for about six years now, and over that time it's been the source of plenty of hidden treasures. Kowloon's currently holding a Tote Bag Festival, so you'll find dozens of unique mesh bags scattered around the area with the majority of them free for the taking.
Of all the things to base a festival around, tote bags are among the most unlikely. Yet the Kowlooon totes bags are incredibly varied, and I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least one free bag floating around to suit everyone's tastes. Just check out the ridiculously adorable picture above from Xantheanne's 2nd Life. You've got you're realistic bags, your classy bags, your cute bags, your funky bags...
So even if you're not convinced that any of these bags are for you, be sure to swing by Kowloon for the totes (or for the sites) soon.

As a new arrival in SL, Kowloon was the first sim i found that made me think "Whoa! This place is different" Three years later it is probably still my favorite sim in SL. I visit regularly and still have not seen the whole thing! The sim has been often imitated, but never duplicated.
