Janine "Iris Ophelia" Hawkins' ongoing review of gaming and virtual world style
Diablo III's Inferno mode isn't exactly a cakewalk in the first place, so just imagine successfully completing it without ever swinging a sword, axe, mace, staff, or whatever other weapons you might come across. One ingenious gamer known as Icemaz has managed to do just that with the help of a character build painstakingly crafted around an effect that deals damage to any foe who attacks you without you having to make a single mouse-click in your own defence.
See Icemaz's passive Diablo III build in action in the video above or read more about it over on No Wrong Way To Play, Anthony Burch's blog chronicling the most unexpected and unusual ways that people play games.
Iris Ophelia (@bleatingheart, Janine Hawkins IRL) has been featured in the New York Times, and has spoken about SL-based design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan and with pop culture/fashion maven Johanna Blakley.
Thorns build, don't even need to read the original post or watch the video to know that. It's the only way you could pull something like that off. Problem with thorns is that it's not enough damage. It will take FOREVER. Plus you'll need some self healing vs hard hitting elites and bosses. A companion will help. Ah he's only playing on Monster Power 0! That build wouldn't be viable at higher difficulties. (My DH on the PS3 is stuck at Master I because she's at 208K dps. I basically need a dual gem slot Manticore to go higher) You'll also notice he's avoiding most enemies and going straight to quest targets.
Nice to see that it can be done.
