Janine "Iris Ophelia" Hawkins' ongoing review of gaming and virtual world style
There are few Second Life artists as capable of capturing sweetness, softness, and fragility as Anya Ohmai. The scope of her virtual photography and artwork extends well beyond those themes of course, but when she sets off down that lace and crinoline path the work she produces is incomparable. "Ballerina Solitude" is a flawless example of this: her composition, her color palette, her staging, her lighting, every aspect coming together into an image that forces a wistful sigh out of my lungs whenever I look at it.
Anya's work often comes in short bursts, spread out with weeks or even months between them. As much as I dislike that, it just makes each picture so much sweeter, so much more worth savouring.
