Janine "Iris Ophelia" Hawkins' ongoing review of gaming and virtual world style
Last week after namedropping Jay Faircloth in an unrelated Second Life screenshot post, I was compelled to see what my favorite Skyrim modder had been up to since I browser their gallery last. Among a lot of the usual stunning shots of Faircloth's characters and game environments there was a connective thread composed of something a little more unexpected: Spriggans.
Faircloth has shared quite a few stunningly detailed spriggan screenshots recently, and some of them have to be seen to be believed. There's one of three spriggans engulfed in a wave of flames, another spriggan glowing like embers in profile, and even one punctuated with a strange glittering flare. My favorite among them all, though, has to be the one embedded above. "Heart of glass" depicts a spriggan struck through with an ice spike, hand extended. It's not only a compelling image, but it reveals so much detail on the actual spriggan model itself, from talons to antlers.
If you want to see more of Faircloth's stunning work, be sure to visit their (mildly NSFW) Flickr gallery here.
