Hamlet has the lindens considered about an official 3rd party fan site program?
Example i lost 6 friends in last 2 years over witch hunts & unneeded drama on SLU, while later finding out 3 of those thought it was the real forum, costing linden lab over 40 regions while loosing thousands of dollars
They use the name but offer standards different from linden terms of service, so if they ban a resident and the resident thinks it was lindens doing it then it hurts our world whiles we loose more residents, sure the website says SLUniverse but once accessed its Second Life Universe a bit misleading
My idea is linden lab owns the Second Life name in several variations that if websites want to call themselves related to second life then they should be part of a monitored program with standards that way they are official and if not then lindens pressure then to put a big bold disclaimer thats very viable to those findings the sites & new sign-ups
Beside rules hammy this could be a way to highlight other lesser known sites just as old that are 3rd party fan sites with maybe even an official linden website portal in the spirit of the 3rd party viewers resource page but linkable directly from the SL community pages
3rd party fan site registry
maybe not a perfect idea but might inspire something related & help in the loss of residents due to different public standards and how they are executed
Just Feedback from a long time reader since 07
